Ashleigh Gardner, DO

Dr. Gardner is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and can’t imagine working with any other age group! “I love the opportunity to meet them as newborns and then follow their development, health concerns, and accomplishments as they grow into young adults and become the best that they can be.” She has a special interest in pediatric nutrition, international health, and international adoption.

Dr. Gardner loves to travel, especially when it includes Ireland, Scotland, or Croatia. Germany also holds a special place in her heart after spending seven years growing up there as a missionary kid. Other hobbies are cooking, baking, time with family, planning dinner parties with friends, photography, hiking, medical mission trips, figure skating, and board games. She is a diehard San Antonio Spurs fan – go Spurs, go! Her favorite holiday is Christmas – the decorations, songs, classic movies (who doesn’t like White Christmas and Holiday Inn!), every Hallmark Christmas movie, and the reminder of Jesus’ birth. Dr. Gardner’s favorite Bible verses are Ephesians 2:1-5, and her favorite children’s books are Anne of Green Gables, Marvin K Mooney’s Will You Please Go Now!, Love You Forever, and Winnie-the-Pooh.

Carrie Atkins, PA-C

Carrie chose pediatrics because she loves kids! “I love helping parents with their precious little ones! Kids make me smile and laugh too… I am thankful Parkside chose to have me. Carrie enjoys spending time with her family, church activities, dancing, reading, puzzles and movie nights. Her favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, because she loves eating good food, being with family, and being thankful. As a child, Carrie wanted to be a librarian! She also used to be an aerobics instructor in Tennessee, is a huge Gamecocks fan, and enjoys pedicures and sweets from a good bakery. Her hope for her kids is for them to be independent, humble people who are respectful of others, kind, and followers of Jesus. Her favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 because of the reminder to not depend on herself but lean on God for His wisdom. Some of her favorite children’s books include First Words books, anything by Sandra Boynton, and picture Bibles.

Maryann Terzella, MD

Dr. Terzella is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and she loves kids! “I love being able to help them, see them grow, and hopefully have a positive influence on their lives as well as those of their parents.”

When she’s not seeing patients, Dr. Terzella enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching movies, eating good food, and reading whenever she can. She and her husband are fans of the same sports teams: NY Jets (for better or worse), NY Rangers, and LA Dodgers! Dr. Terzella’s favorite holiday is Christmas because it’s a time to spend with family and celebrate the true reason that we are all here. Philippians 4:6 is her favorite Bible verse and it reminds her who is really in control. Dr. Terzella’s favorite children’s books are Good Night Moon, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and The Cow Loves Cookies.

Erika M. Anderson, MD

Dr. Anderson is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, South Carolina Medical Society, and Greenville County Medical Society. Caring for children has been something she has always done and enjoyed. “Now that we have our own family, it is even more fun to care for and build relationships with families… after working with Dr. Moll, Dr. Dobson, and Dr. Jones in residency, I knew Parkside was the place for me!”

Dr. Anderson enjoys supporting her kids in sports, Clemson, swimming, reading, shopping, flower gardening, and volunteering at school and church. She and her family provide foster care, something dear to their hearts – “We are called to be the support, love, and voice for God’s children who need it right here in our community.” Her favorite holiday is July 4th – family, swimming, good food and fireworks! She celebrated her 21st birthday in the Eiffel Tower with her mom, knows how to SCUBA dive, and did a medical mission trip with her husband to Nicaragua. Some of Dr. Anderson’s favorite children’s books include Little Golden Books, Eric Carle, and Max Lucado children’s books.

Rebecca S. Woodlief, MD

Dr. Woodlief is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Christian Medical and Dental Association. She decided to become a pediatrician when she fell in love with the children on medical mission trips in high school and college. “God instilled in my heart a desire to serve through taking care of children, and I feel absolutely fulfilled in a job that I love and feel privileged to do.”

Dr. Woodlief enjoys spending time with family, church, Virginia Tech football, jigsaw puzzles, reading, photography, the beach, and traveling— current count is 16 countries on 4 continents, mostly through mission trips. Kenya is her favorite destination, although holding a koala in Australia was pretty neat too! She loves Thanksgiving because of the chance to reflect on all the blessings God has given her. She also enjoys pedicures, massages, ice cream/froyo, and every cake at Brick Street Café. Dr. Woodlief’s hope for her kids is that they will grow up knowing that they can face anything life throws at them through prayer and trust in God. Some of her favorite children’s books include Llama Llama Red Pajama, Amelia Bedelia, Curious George, and Berenstain Bears.

Scott Dobson, MD

Dr. Dobson is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, South Carolina Medical Society, and Greenville County Medical Society. He says he has always felt called to be in a career where he could be around and help kids. Dr. Dobson chose Parkside because “I wanted to be part of something different, to make a difference, to do medicine the old fashioned way – with relationships… I know Parkside is called to serve on the mission field; we continue to discern with our team where that will be, how, and when.”

Dr. Dobson loves spending time with his wife and three incredible kids. He also enjoys his church, traveling, yoga, golf, cooking (especially while camping) and Clemson. He doesn’t love chocolate… at all, ever. His favorite holiday is Christmas, and his favorite Parkside fun day is pajama day. Dr. Dobson once did a myringotomy (puncture the ear drum) on Dr. Moll in his house. It worked, but apparently Dr. Moll cried. Dr. Dobson’s favorite children’s books are Goodnight Moon, Brown Bear Brown Bear, and Old Macdonald.
