Jeremy Pickell, MD

Dr. Pickell chose pediatrics because “it is very humbling and rewarding to help a child and their family along the journey from birth to adulthood. Dr. Pickell’s last name really is pronounced “pickle” and even he enjoys laughing at it and thinks it’s funny! He has several hobbies, including reading, running, traveling, eating anything with chocolate or peanut butter, and being involved with his church. He loves to spend time with his wife and their German Shepherd, Charlie. Dr. Pickell grew up in East Tennessee and loves UT football! He goes back to watch games whenever he can – go VOLS! The abundance of pumpkin pie and pecan pie make Thanksgiving his favorite holiday, as well as the chance to spend extra time with his family. Some of Dr. Pickell’s favorite children’s books include The Little Prince, The Hobbit, Where the Wild Things Are, Harold and the Purple Crayon, Winnie-the-Pooh, and the Babar books.

Sarah McNemar, MD

  • B.S.in Biology from West Virginia Wesleyan College
  • B.A. in chemistry from West Virginia Wesleyan College
  • M.D. from Marshall University School of Medicine

Dr. McNemar has a family of 5, including her husband, two boys, and dog, Dyson. She has a special love for foster and adoptive medicine and says, “I feel strongly about helping families foster and adopt because my husband and I had lots of help on the journey of building our own family — through the adoption of our two boys. We are so grateful for everyone who helped us along the way, and feel strongly about helping other families and kids find forever homes. Our experience with adoption has shown us some of the clearest, deepest, real life examples of the Gospel and Christ’s sacrificial love in our lives, and it is a true privilege to help other families see that as well.”
Using her gifts, Dr. McNemar wants to make an impact in the lives of those around her. She says, “It is such a joy to partner with parents to care for their children. It is such a rewarding experience to watch children grow and flourish, and to play even a small part in that process.” Dr. McNemar also loves Harry Potter, enjoys hiking, and her favorite childrens books are Harold and the Purple Crown and The Lorax.

Charise Guidinger, FNP-C

  • BS in Nursing from Bob Jones University
  • MS in Nursing from Clemson University, with a specialty in Family Nurse Practitionership
  • Family Nurse Practitioner, credentialed through AANP

Charise is the oldest of seven kids and loves being around children! After graduating, Charise worked in a NICU for five years before coming to Parkside. “Working with kids and babies is something I love to do… Parkside is a unique place that has a passion for children and is filled with people who love to serve their patients, each other, and the Lord.”

Charise loves making road trips in her car (affectionately named Mr. Darcy) and blogging about her travels. She also enjoys spending time with her siblings, hanging out with friends, crocheting, Christmas, and watching the Duke Blue Devils men’s basketball team. As a child her dream job was to become an astronaut! Charise also sings in a professional community choir – Rivertree Singers, has been to Haiti five times for medical missions (even speaks Haitian Creole!), and treats herself to Starbucks hot chocolate. Her favorite Bible verse is 2 Timothy 3:14 because “it reminds me that while I have been blessed to learn so much, I have a responsibility to continue in what I have learned and to share that with others.” Charise’ favorite children’s books are Goodnight Moon, BabyLit Pride and Prejudice, The Boxcar Children series, and The Witch of Blackbird Pond.

Erin Bhatia, MD

  • BS in Biology from Troy State University
  • Dietetic Internship University of Alabama
  • MS Nutrition and Food Science from Auburn University
  • MD from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine

Dr Bhatia grew up in Dothan Alabama which is sometimes called the “peanut capital” where she was raised on a farm. She holds a special place for infants and young children with feeding and growth issues. She understands the challenges first hand after her oldest child was born premature and experienced many developmental and feeding difficulties at birth.

She and her husband met in medical school and both have a love for serving in the medical field both in their every day lives and on special mission trips. They have 2 boys who are growing fast and always on the go! The Bhatia family also has another “baby”, their 90 pound gooldendoodle, Max.
Dr. Bhatia loves her family, the outdoors, and working out and taking walks together wraps all these things into one! She is also interested in cooking, trying new recipes, and photography. It was a difficult task to pick out just a few of her favorite children’s books. Some that were at the top of her list are: Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb by Al Perkins (Dr. Seuss), I Love You Stinky Face by Lisa McCourt, Chicka Chicka abc by Bill Martin Jr and John Archambault, and I Love You Night and Day by Smriti Prasadam Halls.

Justin Moll, MD

Dr. Moll is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, South Carolina Medical Society and Greenville County Medical Society. He chose pediatrics because he says there’s no better way to care for a friend or fellow adult than to care for their kids. Read More

Dr. Moll loves playing with his kids in the back yard, especially building forts and overnight camping. He grew up in California, married his high school sweetheart, was an English major in undergrad, and rode dirt bikes on the weekends. In an attempt to defy the laws of entropy, Dr. Moll hiked Half Dome in 2001, ran a half marathon in 2013, and his next goal is an Ironman. He also loves Christmas and is dangerously close to becoming the next Clark Griswold because he keeps adding lights each year! Dr. Moll’s favorite Bible verses are Philippians 4:4-8. Some of his favorite children’s books include The Big Red Barn, Goodnight Moon and Little Blue Truck.

Justin Dukes, MD

Dr. Dukes chose pediatrics because “kids are fun, resilient, and our future! It’s a blessing to follow a child from birth to college.” He believes the exceptional relationships between patients, parents, staff, and providers is what sets Parkside apart.

Dr. Dukes enjoys spending time with his wife and two kiddos, as well as church, vacationing at the beach, hiking, watersports, and UGA football—go Dawgs! His favorite holiday is Christmas because it’s a time to celebrate Jesus’ birth, spend time with family, and see the magic in each child’s eyes. He also plans to get his pilot’s license someday. In fact, if he wasn’t a pediatrician he would have been a commercial pilot, and his wife previously wanted to be a flight attendant. Dr. Dukes’ hope for his children is health, happiness, a giving heart, compassion, and joy in whatever they do. Some of his favorite children’s books include Corduroy, Green Eggs and Ham, Goodnight Moon, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and Where the Sidewalk Ends. Be sure to ask Dr. Dukes to wiggle his ears at your next visit!

Elizabeth Hipp, MD

  • BS in biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

  • International Board Certified Lactation Consultant

Dr. Hipp enjoys spending time with her family and church, baking anything chocolate, and spending time outdoors—including running, horseback riding, surfing, skiing, and wakeboarding. Some of Dr. Hipp’s favorite children’s books include The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Goodnight Moon, and Curious George book.
