We know from experience that this parenting thing can be stressful. Add in a global pandemic, and things can start to feel even more overwhelming. At Parkside Pediatrics, we take our role as pediatric healthcare experts seriously. As your child’s primary care physicians, we want to provide you with the most up to date and reliable resources available, allowing you to make the best decisions for your family as you navigate through the twists and turns of the pandemic and beyond.

COVID-19 Vaccination

Is it the right choice
for your child?

Trusted Resources PDF

We are constantly working to stay up to date on all evidence-based Pediatric care recommendations, including COVID-19 vaccinations. With that said, we want to be clear that our recommendation is that children ages 12 and up get the COVID-19 vaccination if they’re able. As we anxiously await the availability of vaccine data among younger age groups, children under the age of 12, we will keep this page updated with our thoughts and recommendations as we receive additional information.

We currently offer the Moderna and Pfizer vaccinations, either of which your child will receive based on their age.

When looking online for information regarding the Covid-19 vaccine (or anything medical for that matter), please always consider the source. The most reliable sources for medical information will cite their references, and any accompanying research should be from peer-reviewed scientific journals. Here are a few websites, articles, and studies we trust as resources when doing our own research.

Think your child
might have Covid-19?

Whether you think your child may have the coronavirus, the common cold, or the flu, we want to see them in our office. To make things as simple as possible, you can now schedule sick appointments for your child online.

How is Parkside here
for you during this time?

In addition to Covid-19 vaccine availability and simpler scheduling options, we have updated our office protocols to keep your family as safe as possible.

Here is a current list of what you can expect when you visit our offices:

  • Masks are required for anyone over the age of 2 in all Parkside locations.
  • Our waiting rooms are currently open with a well-side and sick-side available. If you or your child have been exposed to COVID-19, have flu-like symptoms, or would feel more comfortable waiting in your car, you can leave your cell number with the front desk and they will call you when your exam room is ready.
  • We have always prioritized a clean and sterile environment at our offices to keep you and your family safe. We have added extra cleaning and disinfectant measures to our standard protocols in response to the pandemic.

We also love to connect with you and support you through weekly blog posts. Haven’t seen the Parkside Blog yet? Subscribe today for helpful medical advice, parenting thoughts, and humorous musings about what it’s like to raise these creatures we call kids.
